In an interview with Bloomberg, Ilya also revealed some other information about the company:
Ilya refused to disclose the names of financial supporters and the amount of funds raised.
The new company will achieve safety by integrating engineering breakthroughs into AI systems, rather than relying on temporary protective measures.
Sutskever has two co-founders. One is investor Daniel Gross, who used to be the head of AI at Apple Inc.
The other founder is Daniel Levy, who trained models with Ilya at OpenAI.
Ilya said that he has spent years thinking about safety issues and has some methods. There may be some results coming out soon.
The goal of Ilya's new company can be likened to a huge data center capable of autonomously developing technology; this system will be more versatile and scalable than Large Language Models (LLMs).
